La parola ansia, dal latino angere ossia \u201cstringere\u201d, comunica molto bene la sensazione di disagio vissuta da chi soffre di uno dei disturbi legati al suo spettro, ovvero l\u2019idea di costrizione, di imbarazzo e di incertezza sul futuro. Servizi sanitari\u201d del 2013, realizzata su un campione ampiamente rappresentativo di 72.476 individui di et\u00e0 compresa tra i 18 e i 64 anni emerge che la prevalenza di soggetti con alta probabilit\u00e0 di presentare disturbi ansiosi e\/o depressivi \u00e8 pari al 14,8%. <b>Se applichiamo il tasso nazionale alla popolazione generale italiana adulta, otteniamo un dato complessivo pari a 5.480.118 persone. <\/b>E il trend analizzato \u00e8 in costante crescita.<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 20\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<div itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Lo stress e l\u2019ansia vengono spesso considerate reazioni molto simili, al punto che spesso vengono confuse, dato che il loro processo di attivazione psicofisiologica \u00e8 simile. Tuttavia, <b>si tratta di reazioni diverse, cos\u00ec come sono diverse le loro ripercussioni sulla salute<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Ci\u00f2 che le accomuna \u00e8 che entrambe sorgono in risposta ad una determinata situazione. In generale, <strong>i disturbi di ansia e i problemi di stress hanno delle conseguenze negative sulla salute<\/strong>. L\u2019intensit\u00e0 e la durata sono i fattori che segnano la differenza tra queste due risposte che, all\u2019inizio, appaiono come meccanismi di difesa.<br \/>\nNel caso dello stress, la causa scatenante \u00e8 facilmente identificabile. Si verifica quando una persona deve affrontare una determinata situazione, ma non ha, o non crede di avere, le risorse per farlo. Lo stesso vale quando deve svolgere un\u2019attivit\u00e0 o qualsiasi altro compito.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019ansia, invece, ha un\u2019origine pi\u00f9 diffusa. La minaccia o il pericolo molte volte non sono identificabili. Di fatto, in molti casi, non c\u2019\u00e8 una ragione obiettiva che spieghi questo stato di inquietudine, tuttavia lo si prova ugualmente. D\u2019altra parte, l\u2019ansia \u00e8 molto sensibile al condizionamento e all\u2019anticipazione e pu\u00f2 essere una conseguenza dello stress (pressione).<\/p>\n<p><b>La presenza di stress nelle nostre vite, di per s\u00e9, non \u00e8 dannosa: ha una funzione basica per la nostra sopravvivenza.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; <\/span><\/b>Infatti rispondere con lo stress ci permette di disporre di pi\u00f9 opzioni per affrontare situazioni inusuali ed eccezionali.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp; <\/span><b>Ci\u00f2 che ci fa del male \u00e8 la durata, cio\u00e8 quando lo stress si protrae nel tempo<\/b>. L\u2019ansia e la preoccupazione sono difficilmente controllabili e sono associate a sintomi fisici.<\/p>\n<p>Anche in questo caso \u00e8 importante distinguere il disturbo dalle preoccupazioni cosiddette normali e da quelle transitorie. Il carattere distintivo di questo disturbo \u00e8, infatti, la cronicit\u00e0 e pervasivit\u00e0 della preoccupazione ansiosa con i suoi correlati somatici, e la mancanza di controllo della preoccupazione, che non permette alla persona di gestire efficacemente i problemi che di volta in volta assillano la sua mente.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Come implica il nome, il disturbo di ansia generalizzato \u00e8 caratterizzato da una ansia durevole che non \u00e8 concentrata su un particolare oggetto o situazione. leggera, parestesie, tetania muscolare ecc.) che alimentano l\u2019ansia, in un continuo crescendo, a causa del significato di possibile morte imminente che la persona attribuisce alla sintomatologia
